I was first inspired by Clara after hearing her fill in as principal flute in the Gonzaga orchestra. She mentioned a flute choir she was organizing for people who loved to play flute in a group so I jumped at the opportunity She lined up gigs and found a variety of music of several levels. Clara directed us with patience and confidence that we could rise to each occasion, and led with gracious communication to our audiences.

I took several private lessons from Clara in an effort to improve my tone, technique and repertoire. She has such a knowledge of the physiology used in playing the flute. She provided so many practical suggestions for embouchure and breathing needed for the best tone! She supplied helpful exercises for scales, arpeggios, and harmonics, and great interpretations of the flute literature.
